They lie to us. They legally can’t help it because the laws are written to compel corporate leadership to place stockholders profit above any other consideration. If the CEO of any corporation told the truth they would face prison time. Even if there were not a better business model that didn’t include a battery package that that can cost from a third to half the value of the vehicle, they could use accounting tricks called Lead Loss, investing in the market, confident of their future return.
